Dear Parents and Carers,

We are pleased to finally share the final inspection report with you for Platt Bridge Community School following the school's inspection on 10 and 11 July 2024.

Please click here or see attached to review the report in full.

We are pleased with the report’s findings, particularly the statement about our warm and welcoming school, where pupils are happy and safe.

The school received an overall effectiveness judgement of "Good” as the inspection was conducted prior to the recent removal of single headline grades and was judged "Outstanding" for both Behaviour and Attitudes, and the school’s Early Years Provision which we are extremely pleased with.

CEO and Executive Headteacher, Sue Darbyshire, commented: "This outcome is a testament to our schools unwavering belief that anything is possible and our staff’s dedication to ensuring the best outcomes and life opportunities for every pupil has never been stronger. The report also highlights the abilities of the schools dedicated staff team in identifying additional needs promptly and providing the necessary support to enable pupils with differing needs to progress well through the curriculum".

The report highlights many strengths particularly

  • The school's positive environment, where pupils feel happy, safe, and well-supported by staff.
  • That pupils benefit from high expectations across a broad range of subjects, and achieve well across the curriculum, with a strong focus on early reading.
  • Pupils with SEND, including those in the school resourced provision, achieve well.
  • Leaders at all levels understand their roles and responsibilities, including those relating to school governance, well.
  • That Strategic Leadership is provided at all levels, including trust leaders, who were praised for providing strategic support and ensuring staff have the resources they need to provide pupils with the best start in life and ensure that they succeed.

I am sure you will join us in congratulating the school, its pupils and staff for this outcome.

Should you have any questions or feedback can email us on enquiries@plattbridge.cfat.org.uk

Best wishes
